That juice box suddenly becomes an oasis to prevent thirst, and thorns from that thistle become a bundle of arrows for your trusty handcrafted bow. Now, what if you were somehow shrunk to the size of an insect, like what happens to the characters in Grounded? Well, those discarded and forgotten nuisances suddenly take on a whole new purpose and might be key to surviving to see another sunrise. The Game Preview version of the game will be added to Xbox Game Pass from launch. There are many things you might see and take for granted in your everyday life, like a half-empty juice box tossed on the lawn or a prickly little thistle plant that refuses to go away. Grounded is getting a "pre-preview" test flight through the Xbox Insiders program – there's no word on when that will launch just yet, but it's expected very soon. That means that the majority of Obsidian's staff is presumably steaming ahead with a larger project, assumed to be in their more traditional RPG wheelhouse. He mentions that the three members of the panel – himself, Lead Environment Artist Sean Dunny and Senior Programmer Roby Atadero – constitute about 25% of the entire Grounded team. The Sca-B snap bracelet on the player's wrist is the health and survival meter. The game is set in the 90s, so the set of teens that players can choose from have suitably garish neon outfits the era will be reflected in the objects players find strewn about in the garden too. Ants work out to about the size of small dogs in relation, whereas spiders – if you choose to include them – will be a more significant threat. The team decided on players being roughly 10mm tall, to balance the player's size against the potential combat difficulty of the surrounding bugs. The Early Access launch on Steam – and Game Preview on Xbox – is still planned for Spring 2020, and according to the Steam page, it'll include roughly 20% of the planned final story. It has four-player co-op, but the developers are keen to give the game a decent single-player experience as well, including a complete story.
